When Does Tooth Emerge for Baby Koala Joey?

As soon as the baby Koala Joey reaches the age of 7 months, the tooth development process quickly starts. Tooth growing is a very important phase for the baby Koala Joey at this age, because after 7 months, its mother can release it finally for living on its own. Having good teeth will always ensure that the baby Koala Joey will successfully be able to chew the eucalyptus leaves properly and will make its good survival in the natural environment.

Moreover, teeth are also important because good chewing will allow the baby Koala joeys to actually extract more nourishment from the eucalyptus leaves, which without chewing may not be possible at all. Usually they do not immediately start chewing at the 7th month, but rather they start chewing around the 8th month of their lives.

Therefore, a baby Koala Joey usually develops its teeth at the age of around 9 to 10 months. At the age of 7, they quickly start to emerge and onwards, they keep on ground and after maturity, they keep on decaying till they lose them all. Having a proper tooth development is highly important for the Koala Joeys, as good tooth are required to chew the Eucalyptus properly and extract Nutrients.
