Breeding Ages of the Male and Female Koalas

Male and female Koalas both start breeding at respective ages. Usually upon reaching their youth both the female and male Koalas start breeding on the normal basis. For male Koalas usually a period of 18 months is enough for them to start mating with their female Koalas. However, female Koalas reach the ready state for the breeding around 20 months to sometimes 22 months. Therefore, the female Koalas’ breeding season is a bit more than the female koalas. However, sometimes, this breeding and mating age for both the male and female Koalas can also vary as well.

According to some observations, female Koalas started breeding as early as of 18 months, and as late as 24 to 28 months. On the other hand the male Koalas started to breed as early as 14 months, and as late as 22 months.

There are different factors which specifically influence the breeding ages of the male and female koalas. The biggest factor is the environmental conditions and severe weathers. Sometimes, the mating is only valid for the bigger dominant Koalas, but these happenings are relatively far and few among koalas as no matter how much bigger a koala is, it prefers to sleep 20 hours a day, while other koalas can specifically seek opportunities of mating.
